BBOC Dads meet to pray for our school every other Wednesday (7:45am)
in the Library (Primary Education Building).
The next meeting dates are:

* These dates will be combined prayer days with the Moms in Prayer group.
BBOC at PVCP is A.O.K.
Big Boys on Campus is HUGE
"Moms have to do EVERYTHING at Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory!"
That
used to be the mantra prior to founder, Shelley Lowry, getting some
dads together to pray for the school several years ago; the genesis of
the Big Boys on Campus, commonly known as the B.B.O.C.
It was a humble beginning. There were three or four guys praying at that gazebo before the start of school one Friday morning.
"I
believe prayer from involved dads make a big impact on his children's
campus life." stated Lowry. "We pray for our Headmaster, Sheryl
Temple; our board members for Godly wisdom; our teachers for their work
and encouragement. We pray for each other, and we believe that the Lord
Jesus Christ honors and blesses our school as we pray for our children
there."
He's telling the truth.
Prayer works.
"We
watched the school grow in numbers; from something like 200 or so to
over 400! We witnessed PVCP getting on the map with the accreditation.
We participated in asking the Lord to send us and retain the best
Christian educators; and we saw the school turn from a Christian
environment, to a Community of Believers, to true family of
God." reflected Brian "Boots" Bouterie, a former founding BBOC dad.
Today,
there are over 50 men on the EMAIL list and as many as 20 DADs meet to
pray, fellowship, eat doughnuts and drink coffee together several times a
month.
"I
honestly can't think of a more powerful image for the children to
encounter, than to see their DADs on campus, holding hands and praying
for them." continued Bouterie. "Coupled with that, just look at the
presence of the BBOC at virtually every function and event at the
school."
For
example, the BBOC help in the set-up and clean-up of the PVCP Picnic and
the Auction each year, to name a few. BBOC DADs are even found on the
playgrounds and the sports fields and courts from time to time.
Arguably,
the BBOC came to fame with the absolutely inspiring Chapels that they
have moderated over the past several years. Who can forget their hit
song, "Who let the DADs Out?"
"We're
all about being there for our kids!" surmised Boots. "The moms still
do everything, but behind every great woman is a BBOC DAD praying for
them!
BBOC Mission:
- We are MEN who are faithfully committed to our children
- We are FATHERS dedicated to the PVCP Family through prayer
- We are DADs who support their Head Master, students, teachers, staff & board
- We are DADDYs with a visible presence on the campus; illustrating our love & participation in school events
- We are the BIG BOYS ON CAMPUS
- We are the BBOC!
