PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PAC)

PAC meets one Friday a month (unless otherwise noted) at 8:15am in the Office Conference Room.

PAC Meeting Dates for 2012:  Sept. 2, Oct. 5, Nov. 2  (2013 dates are TBA)

What is PAC?

PAC is the Parent Advisory Council formed over a decade ago as a way for parents, as a group, to show their appreciation to the teachers and staff of Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory.  Tasks include photocopying, cleaning, and various simple (but meaningful) acts of service.  We also host several meals throughout the school year.  Most PAC members are moms who understand the value of someone else pitching in to help, and see it as a gift of TIME.  Our teachers and staff give so much of their time to our families that it only seems natural to give some back.  The culture of everyone serving each other is one that sets us apart from other schools.  It builds community.  It creates friendships.  It honors the Lord.

PAC does not emphasize fund-raising, however; we do generate funds in order to support our budget.  We sponsor the “Jeans for $1 Days”, sportswear sales, and the “Panther Penny Pursuit”.

You are encouraged to seek out volunteer opportunities in your child’s classroom as well as in PAC.  By attending PAC meetings you will gain a tremendous perspective on the school as a whole.  You can come and share your ideas, or you can come and just listen.  You can offer to lead a project, or you can sit on the sidelines and cheer.  The bottom line is that we need all types of people to be the best we can be.  We truly hope you will join us.
