Abbie Barajas

Head Coach

Coach Barajas has played volleyball her entire life. She made it to the collegiate level before injuries halted her playing career after a tear to her knee during her freshman season at Western Wyoming Community College. Coach Barajas has coached volleyball for 3 seasons as she looks ahead to year 4 in the 2024/2025 school year. Coach Barajas started her coaching career in 2019 as a MS assistant coach at a local charter school before earning her first HS coaching gig in 2022 as the JV Head Coach. Following the 2022 season, Coach Abbie was hired as the Head Volleyball Coach here at PVCP.

Here is what Coach Barajas had to say about joining the PVCP community:

“I fell in love with the culture and the community and realized that this was something that God wanted me to do. My goal is to mentor the athletes in becoming good people first, and then strong female athletes second. Two of my biggest goals as a coach is to take every opportunity I get to engage my athletes in teachable life moments as they glorify God, and keep Him at the center of everything they do.”

Coach Barajas led PVCP to their first ever Final Four appearance in volleyball during the 2023 season and is excited to build off of that success and compete for a state title next year.
